The procedures to get an expatriate employ permit for company and Indonesian
working visa for f expatriate.
As the mean of a
company,firm,foundation or body intent to hire or employ an expatriate for
working in Indonesia under its sponsorships, It must perform some steps to obtain the working visa which required by Indonesian government . The
bellow are the steps of obtaining the working visa in the brief explanation

Submitting the designed placement and brief
contract with the expatriate worker.
It then standardized and approved by the ministry of man power.
This standardized placement and contract referred as
RPTKA (Rencana Penggunaan Tenaga Kerja Asing or Designed Placement of expatriate)
. At this stage the sponsor must submit its detail identity and the
condition that it offers to expatriate
such as position,salary, location of job.and the duration of contract
(maximum 12 months and can be extended.).

Once the RPTKA was approved , the sponsor continue
to make pre employ permit for
the expatriate or in Bahasa we
called PRA IMTA ( Izin Menggunakan Tenaga Kerja Asing).
At this stage , the sponsor must put detail identity of the expatriate worker
such as personal information ,educational information ,and working experience
plus expatriate insurance and recommendation from other Indonesian ministries for some professional job such as
doctor,teacher,lawyer, etc.

The PRA IMTA or pre employ permit obligate the sponsor to pay the fund of compensation
for employ the expatriate instead the
local employee. This fund is allocated for several program of the ministry of man power to elevate the
skill and competency of local employee . The fund mostly spend to build and operate the
training center and it called DKPTKA
(Dana Kompensasi Penggunaan Tenaga
Kerja Asing) or DPKK (Dana
Pelatihan Keterampilan dan Keahlian). The amount of the compensation is 100 $
per month. If it payed then
the ministry of manpower will issued the employ permit for the sponsor
called IMTA.

IMTA then be used by the Immigration to approve
the working visa for the expatriate in concert with the immigration and
police record from both countries , Indonesia and expatriate s country. The
approved working visa be sent to the nearest Indonesian embassy or consulate
to expatriate s presence or stay. Then
the embassy or consulate be competed to issued the visa.

It is not more than 7 days , the application of
limited stay permit or ITAS (Ijin Tinggal Terbatas) must be submitted by the sponsor. It must be submitted to the district
immigration office which authority cover
the domicile of the expatriate. Along of ITAS process the sponsor should also
apply the MERP ( Multi Entry Re-entry Permits ).The MERP will allow the expatriate to make travelling out and in of Indonesia with out any effect to his/her ITAS because
travelling out of Indonesia without
MERP will canceled the ITAS.

The final step is to reporting the presence
of expatriate to the local civil
registry office which authority cover the domicile of expatriate. The local register will be given by the civil office such as the temporary ID
and family card of expatriate
