As the mean of a company, firm, foundation or body intent to hire or employ an expatriate for working in Indonesia under its sponsorships, It must perform some  steps to  obtain the working visa  which required by Indonesian government . The bellow are  the steps of obtaining  the   working visa in the brief  explanation
1
Submitting the designed placement and   brief contract with the expatriate  worker. It then standardized   and approved by the ministry of man power. This standardized placement and contract referred   as RPTKA (Rencana  Penggunaan  Tenaga Kerja Asing or Designed Placement of expatriate) . At this  stage  the sponsor must  submit its detail identity and the condition that it offers to expatriate  such as position, salary, location of job.and the duration of contract (maximum 12 months and can be extended.).
2.
Once the RPTKA was approved , the sponsor continue to make  pre employ  permit for  the expatriate  or in Bahasa we called  PRA  IMTA ( Izin Menggunakan Tenaga Kerja Asing). At this stage , the sponsor must put detail identity of the expatriate  worker  such as personal information ,educational information ,and working experience plus expatriate insurance   and recommendation from  other Indonesian ministries  for some professional job such as doctor, teacher, lawyer, etc.
3.
The PRA IMTA or pre employ permit obligate  the sponsor to pay the fund of compensation for employ the expatriate  instead the local employee. This fund is allocated  for several program of  the ministry of man power  to elevate  the  skill and competency of local employee . The fund  mostly spend to build and operate the training center  and it called DKPTKA (Dana Kompensasi Penggunaan Tenaga  Kerja Asing)  or DPKK (Dana Pelatihan Keterampilan dan Keahlian). The amount of the compensation is 100 $  per month. If it payed  then  the ministry of manpower will issued the employ permit for the sponsor called IMTA.
4.
IMTA then be used by the Immigration to approve the working visa for the expatriate in concert with the immigration and police record from both countries , Indonesia and expatriate s country. The approved working visa be sent to the nearest Indonesian embassy or consulate to  expatriate s presence or stay. Then the embassy or consulate be competed to issued the visa.

It is not more than 7 days , the application of limited stay permit or ITAS (Ijin Tinggal Terbatas)  must be submitted  by the sponsor. It must be submitted to   the  district immigration office which  authority cover the domicile of the expatriate. Along of ITAS process the sponsor should also apply the MERP ( Multi Entry Re-entry Permits  ).The MERP will allow the expatriate to  make travelling out and in  of Indonesia  with out any effect to his/her ITAS because travelling out of  Indonesia without MERP  will canceled the ITAS.
6.
The final step is to reporting the presence of expatriate  to the local civil registry  office which  authority cover the  domicile of expatriate.  The  local register  will be given by  the civil office such as the temporary ID and  family card  of expatriate
